Hello Sandie, Thanks for the e-mail :) It's so cool how shemp does the ebb ebb ebb ebb's 'cause it's funny and it's hard to say. Malice in the palace is my favorite shemp short. The cat and dog scene is the most funniest thing i've ever seen. How they think that Larry cooked the cat and dog and they are forced to eat it and it makes noises. LOL!! And the spaghetti bit, how all the food goes everywhere and one guy gets covered in it and shemp gives him a haircut :) The map they look at too is funny, all those funny names for the places like, "Jerkola" and "great mitten" he he he . And the Emir of Shmo, how he has to stand in that lillypond until foiter notice. and when they come back, the shmo is flooded. LOL! And Blunder boys because It's so funny. I like how they introduce themselves, like moe says "were the 3 fingers of the law, I'm the first finger" Larry says "I'm the second finger" and ends with shemp "I'm the hangnail" then cries. It's so funny when Moe says , I'm haliday, larry says: I'm teriday then shemp always says stuff like: I'm new years day. hehehehehe The turkish bath scene was so funny!! the but where they are dressed as girls and shemp wanted to talk to the rest of the girls and moe yells "STOOGE" When they enroll in the criminology class, the way they spoke was hilarious!! ebebbebbebbebbebebeb Loose loot is another favorite because all of it is hilarious .How funny was it when that girl hurt shemp's nose and then he got the sword and hit her with it! It was so unexpected. Shemp's shadow boxing was so funny! the fish bowl bit and how Moe threw the brick at the painting and it hit the guy in the head, and he did this really dramatic fall ha ha ha ha ha! and then they run in the painting and dance and sing "We're in the money" Shemp is so incredibly funny!!!! I'm going to try to get into the acting business when I finish school :) It sounds like a lot of fun. What shemp episodes do you like best? Thanx again for the e-mail :) ~Peace and Love~ From Bianca Dear Bianca, Yes, you truly "get" Shemp. And at such a young age. Shemp really is timeless as each new generation discovers the genius known as Shemp!
Bob Kruchinski / mikedangerwood@hotmail.com PA - Saturday, November 25, 2000 "Three Blind Mice" plays and the words "The Three Stooges (Shemp, Larry, Moe) in..." appear on the TV screen. The room is full of laughter from the first poke in the eyes to the last slap in the face! Sure, we all know and love Larry, Curly, and Moe, but personally, my favorite of the stooges was the comic genius known as Shemp. Whether he was playing with words, trying to steal something, or just making a funny noise, Shemp can always bring a smile to my face. I was delighted to find this great site, dedicated to the one and only Shemp Howard, because a lot of other sites only contain things about the Curly films. Some of my favorite Shemp films are Fright Night, The Hot Scots, Tricky Dicks, Goof on the Roof, and Brideless Groom. Some of my favorite scenes with Shemp are Christine McIntyre slapping Shemp silly (Brideless Groom), Shemp trying to retrieve his beautiful Cracker Jack ring from inside of a TV set (Goof on the Roof), and any scene that involves him snoring and making his "Heeb eeb eeb!" noise. I'm currently making a page dedicated to Shemp I would like to ask for permission to use a few images from www.shempcompany.com before I continue to work on the page. Thanks for your time. Well, in closing I'd like to say I hope to see more updates to the site soon, so we can all remember Shemp and share a few laughs. :) Thanks, Bob & welcome to the family... Shempcompany.com
Laura Monday, July 24, 2000 How can anyone call Shemp the "Forgotten Stooge"??? He has always been one of my favorites.....to prove that love for Shemp knows no boundaries, I have a little boy with Down Syndrome who ADORES his "Shempie" and squeals with delight when the opening credits come on and he sees Shemp's mug looking out from the TV screen! His favorite one is "The Goon" (Who Done it?) and he will rewind the part where they are all running through the hallway shouting to each other that the Goon is coming! When I am stressed or depressed, one episode of the boys is enough to shake me out of whatever mood I'm in......forget about apples....just watch the Stooges every day to keep the doctor away. God Bless Jill, Sandi and AutoGraphyx for creating this wonderful website..... [ I'm ] also ticked off at what Comedy 3 is trying to do!) Thanks, Laura. We wish the whole Galaxy would read this letter!
Mikey Tuesday, July 18, 2000 Viva Shemp! Don't let those guys at C-3 push you around. Shemp Forever! The Stooge of the Century! EEB EEB BEE BEE BEE C'mon now Mikey, don't hold back... Tell us what ya REALLY think!
William McLean NC Monday, June 12 It is only left for one to imagine what the world could possibly be like with out one of the greatest men to come forth and step into the vast ocean of life, that's right I speak of our most truely beloved entertainer, Shemp. In actuallity, I can't say this, for he was more than merely an "entertainer," he was an inspiration. The utmost love and passion, not only for his work, but also for people is a true inspiration to all mankind. Although some may call him a coward, or an imitation, they need only look as far as their young children, who look past his phobias and find the true man. I can say no more today than, thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you Shemp, you were an inspiration, and a father to me, God bless you as you continue to bring joy not only on earth but also in heavan, you are NOT the forgotten Stooge, you are a hero. Without your constant smile on the screen, despite what your brother may be doing to you, I may not have made it through my own tough times, thank you and God bless. -William McLean Wow!! They just keep gettin' better and better! Thank YOU , William, and....pass me a tissue, please.
| (Another killer from Debbie...)
Debbie Nystrom Shemp Howard... what a gifted man. He so deserves recognition and respect. I am glad that this web site has given us all a chance to say how very much we love him. We all have grown up watching his performances and even through thousands of viewings, we find ourselves collapsed with laughter every time. The older we get the more diverse our tastes become, but nothing can change the love that we have for Shemp. To me, Shemp is someone who has helped to remind me to find joy in the simple things in life. Who else could ever make even the smallest task of ironing a pair of pants so hysterical? Thank you Sandie and Jill and family for giving us the opportunity to share in the love that you have and the pride that you feel for your Grandfather. His life was a gift to every one of us. For this we are truly grateful. May each of us hold a bit of Shemp in our hearts. |
A NOTE Geri Howard, Shemp's daughter-in law To the fans, I am thilled that my father-in law Shemp is receiving the reconition "after all these years" that he has deserved! He had a great talent and was one of the funniest men I have ever met. I am very happy to say that I am his daughter-in law because he was a very loving and warm, witty individual....AND MADE ME LAUGH!!! I thank you all for the love that you have shown here in and the support you have given this sight. Sincerely, Geri Howard-Greenbaum
Debbie Nystrom Calif. I am so excited about this. Shemp has always held a special place in the hearts of my family. My four year old daughter calls him "Shempy" and demands to only watch the shorts that feature him as the 3rd Stooge. I would love to know where to purchase the series of shorts that featured only Shemp made in the 30's and 40's... P.S. Can my family be adopted into your family? :-) Sure!!! Thanksgiving at your place!!
Albert Lester London, England Shemp was my favorite too. Thank you for showing me the fishmouth article. That's what I remember most about Shemp! Ha Ha. I laugh just thinkning about it...FISHMOUTH!! HA HA HA!!! Enough Said...
Don Ference West Virginia We should all have such a legacy. Be us famous or not. That we would have touched someone's life so deeply that would cause them to offer a homage such as this site. Girls, I'm sure that Grampa Shemp smiles down on you both daily from a very special place near the throne of God. And if you listen closely, I'm sure you'll hear the laughter of angels and the faint report of "Mememememememe". A great site dedicated to a great man. (WOW! Don, thank you for your BEAUTIFUL words!!
Aubrey Menezes Ont. Hello Sandie and Jill. First let me say if grandfather Shemp is looking down he will be very proud of the beautiful job the two of you did making this web site, what a tribute to a great man. It's my first time here and let me say you both did a fantastic job, I have now book marked it and will be a regular visitor from now on. I am a great fan of your grandfather, I believe he is the funniest man I have ever seen, what a wonderful man. The Shemp Howard's of this world come by once every hundred years, and it's through men such as he that make this earth a beautiful place to live. The memories and laughs he gave us back then still cure the pains of today, for laughter is the best medicine, and Shemp he's the best doctor. Five years ago I went into hospital for a minor hernia operation, when I came out I went into a small room where you could watch different movies to get you up and about. I turned on the TV and what was on but the Stooges in Fright Night, how I love that short, well your Grandfather made me laugh so much that all the pain in my side vanished, what a wonderful thing. My best friend Edward Bernds directed that short and we discussed it's making for several minutes, he loved Shemp. He said I quote "Dear Shemp he was afraid of everything including his own shadow, he looked over his shoulder at the slightest noise. We had a hard time getting Shemp just to stand on a chair. One day during the filming a stagehand dropped a prop light behind Shemp, he jumped so high he twisted an ankle. The stagehand proceeded to apologize: Shemp then replied, "In the future kid, you always stand in front of me OK!" That above quote was from a story I wrote on Ed Bernds. Again he admired Shemp and said he was naturally funny he didn't have to try to be. He also said Shemp was so full of live and enthusiasm always ready to go and always ready to help. Sandie you and your sister once again have done a beautiful job on this web site, I'm sure Shemp and Babe are smiling right now. They are as lucky to have you as you are to have them, and your all blessed to be part of the greatest comedy family of all time the Howard's. I wish you both all the best I am now a fan of you both, I'm glad I found this beautiful web site, all the best in life and health to everyone in your families. God be with you Aubry,
